Chris Fuhrer’ career in the insurance industry began in 2003 as an advisor for an agency which serves union members and their families with wealth planning assistance. Here he was introduced to life insurance products, how they fit into the financial landscape, and methods in which individuals can utilize them for legacy and estate planning. After having success working with private clientele, Chris was afforded the opportunity to build his own agency and was responsible for mentoring new agents in an effort to better serve their clients.
In 2008, Chris moved on from retail in order to pursue opportunities within independent wholesaling operations. Chris accepted a position at Unkefer & Associates in 2009, shifting focus from life insurance to fixed and fixed indexed annuities. Chris pulled from his retail background in a role to advise agents from all over the country on advanced cases involving retirement, income and legacy planning, which includes strategies for managing taxes, inflation, and many other areas of concern retiree’s and pre-retiree’s face today.
In his personal time, Chris is involved in the local and regional music community, serves on several industry advisory boards, and is an avid outdoorsman, spending time off the grid with his German Shepherd, Luna.
